Right now, the nearest clinic is 8 km away. That distance may not sound far, but it can mean the difference between a child receiving vaccines on time, a mother getting prenatal care, or an emergency being treated before it turns tragic. And even when families make the trip, the clinic is often stretched thin, with limited capacity and outdated equipment.
This new clinic will change that.
Designed to serve both the school and the wider community, it will support maternal health, treat everyday illnesses, respond to emergencies, and provide preventative services such as immunizations, nutrition support, and laboratory testing.
Once built, the clinic will operate through a collaborative model involving International Needs Zambia, local community leadership, and the Zambian Ministry of Health. The Ministry of Health has committed to providing qualified medical staff, covering salaries, and supplying essential medications, helping ensure the long-term sustainability of the clinic.
The remaining need is funding the construction itself. The total project cost is CAD$288,000, and thanks to generous supporters, $140,000 has already been raised.
