Big Plans for Young Entrepreneurs!

Small Business Milwaukee is exploring an exciting new initiative—the Emerging Entrepreneurs Zone, designed specifically for high school and college-age students interested in business and innovation.

Our vision includes a mentorship program, hands-on and on-line workshops, field trips to local businesses, and even a Small Business Milwaukee Young Innovator Award to recognize outstanding young talent. We want to create a space where the next generation of entrepreneurs can learn, connect, and bring their ideas to life.

We’d love your input! What resources or experiences would be most valuable for young entrepreneurs? Would you like to serve as a mentor? Contact Tracy or Kim; see their phone numbers and emails below. Stay tuned as we develop this program!

Building a Strong Relationship With Your Small Business Banker

In John Anderson's recent blog post for Small Business Milwaukee's Advisor's Desk, he dives into an essential topic for small business owners: how to build a strong relationship with your business banker. A trusted banker should be more than just a financial contact—they should be a resource, a guide, and a true partner in your business’s success.

The article breaks down key factors to consider when choosing a bank, the differences between large and small institutions, and how to identify a banker who truly understands and supports your business. Plus, he includes a practical checklist to help you assess your current banking relationship or to find the right banker for your business.
