Dear PFAnetwork Members,

The National Health Information Technology (HIT) Patient Family Advisory Council (PFAC) has been developing an outline of a perfect patient portal from the patient perspective. These improvements will support the relationships between patients, families, caregivers and healthcare professionals.

We need your help!  As we all know patients and families have a huge opportunity to help co-create the perfect portal that meets the needs of patients and families in the future.

Below is a link to a brainstorming survey that looks at what patients and families feel are the best and worst features of their current portals. It also gives you the opportunity to design your perfect portal. We will use the information gathered to find common themes and develop an outline to inform vendors. Those same vendors that create and improve your patient portals!

Here is how you can help!  In order to get a great cross section of portal users, we ask that you complete this survey and share it with your Patient Family Advisory Council (PFAC), other patient groups and patients you know that use portals. The National HIT PFAC is scheduled for two presentations to portal vendors in August and we ask that brainstorming surveys are completed by July 15, 2019. This will give us time to use your information concerning the perfect patient portal in these presentations.
Thank you for your help to in moving this perfect patient portal project forward. We know the answer for a perfect portal is out there with all of our patient and family partners.

Sincerely,

National HIT PFAC
