Many Ohio students depend on their local schools for free and reduced-cost breakfast and lunch throughout the school year. The sudden and unexpected nature of this cancellation leaves many families struggling to find resources for food.
In response to local schools closing, Joshua's Place—a local nonprofit— is assembling meal kits for students in Mason, Kings, Little Miami, Deer Park and Lebanon schools. The meal kits will help fill the food gap for students while school is out.
Joshua's Place is setting up drop-off donation stations each week to collect supplies. Once received, Joshua's Place volunteers will inventory, pack, and distribute the kits in cooperation with local school districts.
