Help Fuel AFE's Fire in 2017!

December 27, 2016
Dear AFE Supporter,

Season Greetings from the Association for Fire Ecology!

As you know, we are a small non-profit organization with big goals. Many of you have attended our regional conferences and our international fire ecology and management congresses. You know how fantastic these events are, and the importance they play in serving the fire community. We work very hard to bring fire professionals from agencies, academic institutions, and non-governmental organizations together to share knowledge and expertise.

What you may not know is that we are increasing the frequency of our events. Our last fire congress was in 2015 in San Antonio, and we are planning our next one in 2017 in Orlando. Our goal is to host these international gatherings every 2 years instead of every 3 years. With that goal comes an increased need for staffing and higher operating expenses. Your membership and donations will give us the added support we need to make these goals sustainable.

As well, we are growing our professional and academic certification programs and increasing the frequency of our position papers.  Our student participation and SAFE membership has never been greater, our journal continues to grow in rankings, and our international reach is continuing to expand!

You can be a part of our 2017 by  joining or renewing your membership today!  And your end of the year donations can help fuel our fire so we can continue our mission to improve the knowledge and use of fire in land management through science and education

Specific donations can be made directly to the Mike daLuz Memorial Student Scholarship .
Your annual membership dues and donations help us so much, as do  generous end-year donations. AFE is a 501(c)(3) organization, so all donations are tax-deductible.

Thank you, and Happy New Year!
