Today is North Texas Giving Day!
For more than 100 years, Goodwill Dallas has served North Texas by helping individuals with barriers to employment build skills, find jobs, and achieve their life goals. The Goodwill Empowerment Works program empowers adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDDs) to reach their full potential by offering social, continuing education, and employment support through a dynamic curriculum that evolves with our participants’ interests and needs. These services are changing lives like Kevin’s.
For 30 years, Kevin has been a dedicated participant in our Goodwill Empowerment Works program. Through a partnership with the University of North Texas and their Texas Beacons of Excellence project, Kevin found competitive integrated employment as a store associate at Goodwill. His favorite part of the job is working with money, and he takes great pride in mastering the cash register. For Kevin, Goodwill has been a beacon of hope, helping him find his place in the community.
