Flu Season is Starting

The annual flu season begins in October and runs through May. The flu vaccine is critical in keeping you, your family and your community safe. The vaccine is especially important for young children, pregnant individuals, adults over 65 and people with certain chronic health conditions.

Our health department is hosting free flu clinics this fall to protect the township. The first clinic kicks off at 10 a.m. on October 1 at Otto Kaufman Community Center. Interested attendees can register here. Find a list of all flu clinics here.

Set Up a Smooth Transition

Our parks and recreation and health departments have teamed up to host a six-week program designed to promote positive mental health and personal development. Open to seventh through twelfth grade students, the free program helps young adults strengthen skills related to personal self-management, relationship building, decision making, financial management and substance use resistance.

The program kicks off October 1 and runs from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. every Thursday through November 5 at the Otto Kaufman Community Center. Interested participants can register here.

Learn More About Cybersecurity

Residents are invited to join us for an informative evening focused on cybersecurity, emerging threats and how to stay safe online. The event will feature speakers from the Montgomery Township Information Technology (IT) Department and the Montgomery Township Police Department, as well as a special presentation from the NJ Cybersecurity and Communications Integration Cell.

The event kicks off at 6:30 p.m. on October 7 at the Montgomery Municipal Center. Space is limited. All interested participants can register here.

Stop by the Montgomery Farmers Market to get a free hearing screening, ear exam or counseling on hearing issues. Light hearing aid cleanings will also be available. Appointments are encouraged and walk-ins are welcome. Register here.

Register now to be one of the decorated cars during this year’s Trunk or Treat! Only vehicles planning to participate by handing out candy need to register, trick or treaters do not. Those interested in decorating a car and handing out candy can register here.
