SAFE SHELTER: HELPING LGBTQ+ YOUNG PEOPLE IN EL SALVADOR
Brave LGBTQ+ Activists in El Salvador stage a Kiss-in.

Widespread homophobia in El Salvador leaves many LGBTQ+ young adults in fear of being kicked out of their homes and at risk for domestic violence. The lack of acceptance among the general population is heavily influenced by Catholic and Evangelical Churches, which have a large impact on public policy and the justice system. Poverty is common, especially among youth and young adults.

RWF is helping interrupt the vicious cycle that many LGBTQ+ youth face by funding the only LGBTQ+ focused emergency shelter in country. The newly created Santa Marta Center in San Salvador provides immediate shelter, food, clothing, and psychological support to young people who have fled their homes, been kicked out, or have been deported.

Please consider a donation to help LGBTQ+ youth in El Salvador. Select "LGBTQ Emergency Assistance" when asked how to designate your donation or mail your donation to Rainbow World Fund, 4111 - 18th Street #5, San Francisco, CA 94114.
JUNE 27: VOLUNTEER - SF PRIDE DAY OPPORTUNITY
Throughout Pride month, we will be raising funds to help LGBTQ+ refugees from Iraq and Syria.

Although San Francisco will not be celebrating Pride with a mega parade and party this year, we invite you to join us as we celebrate Pride and also help our LGBTQ+ brothers and sisters in need.

On Sunday, June 27, RWF's Rainbow Bus will be parked in the Castro from 10 am to 6 pm. The Bus has a lounge interior and it will be open up for visitors. We will be raising funds for the many programs we support that help LGBTQ+ refugees.

Volunteer: We are recruiting for volunteers to be hosts in the bus' lounge and at our information table. Shifts start at 10 am and go to 6 pm and run from 90 minutes to 2 hours. Volunteering is a great way to celebrate your Pride. To volunteer, please send us a message and let us know your availability.
