B-More Dog Newsletter: March 2023 Edition

Hi, B-More Dog!!

As B-More Dog launches our 12th year of offering free wellness services and supports for pet owners in Baltimore’s most under-resourced communities, we’re reminded of this quote from Margaret Mead.

Back in 2011, B-More Dog’s scrappy group of volunteers were the first organization in Baltimore to bring services for pet owners directly to the community. In fact, when we first announced our plans many thought it would never work!

Meanwhile, B-More Dog is on track to reach the 4,000 dogs served benchmark this year! By providing services to keep pets healthy & happy, B-More Dog helps to keep more pets in their homes and out of shelters.

Will you join us in 2023? Please support our Spring 2023 B-More Dog Wellness Clinics by making a donation or volunteering in Brooklyn or Penn North. Our work is only made possible with the support of friends like you. Together, we can change the world.

Sincerely,

Erin, Hillary, John, Melissa, Rachel, Dawn, and Caitlin

Volunteers Needed for Our Brooklyn B-More Dog Wellness Clinic on

April 16th!

We hope you can join us as a volunteer for our B-More Dog Wellness Clinic in Brooklyn on April 16th.

If you haven't volunteered with us before, we think you'll find it rewarding to help B-More Dog bring critical resources to economically challenged neighborhoods where there is a shortage of pet wellness services.

We ask all volunteers to commit to the full day:10:30 AM - 4:00 PM as our wellness clinics are not conducive to split shifts. Please only sign up if you can commit to the entire day. We usually end by 3:30PM, but no later than 4:00 PM. Please be sure to arrive on time to check in with our volunteer coordinator, Caitlin Burton, and make sure that you don't miss our quick orientation.

We provide each dog with a vet check-up, rabies vaccines for healthy dogs four months and older, puppy shots, the option to sign-up for free spay/neuter surgery, flea/tick prevention, dewormer, nail trims, leash & collar check-up/exchange, an enrichment toy, and dog food and other pet supplies. Our goal is to keep dogs happier and healthier in their homes.

You can sign up for one of the following volunteer stations: Check-In, Bilingual Spanish/English Translators, Line Management, Vaccine Station, Leash & Collar Check-up, and Nail Trims/Grooming. We also always need and welcome Vet Techs! We will make every effort to honor your station request, but we may need to shift roles based on attendance, volunteer experience, or station needs. Final assignments will be made and announced the day of the event.

Once you sign-up, you'll receive a confirmation email. Additional specific information including the address of the event is sent the week of the clinic. If you have any questions, please contact Caitlin Burton, Volunteer Coordinator: volunteers@bmoredog.org.
