Helping Marisol Stay Focused on Her Future

For Marisol, days start early and end late. As a full-time Medical Assistant and part-time college student, she works hard to build a better future for herself and her family. Balancing work, school, and expenses is never easy. 



Marisol attends her shifts during the day and takes classes in the evenings, all while working toward her goal of becoming a Registered Nurse. Even with tuition reimbursement, the extra costs — books, lab fees, and transportation — add up quickly and create real financial strain. 

Between rent, helping her family with household bills, and staying committed to her education, Marisol often finds herself stretched thin. Unexpected costs—like a required textbook or a car maintenance issue—can threaten to derail her progress. 

That’s where the Staff Health & Wellness Fund stepped in. 

“The fund helped me cover the school-related costs that tuition reimbursement didn’t include. It was such a relief. It allowed me to stay focused on my classes instead of worrying about how to make ends meet.” 

Despite her demanding workload and late-night study sessions, Marisol continues to show up for patients with compassion and professionalism. Her dedication reflects the heart of Bay Area Community Health’s mission. 



Thanks to the additional support she received, Marisol can stay on track academically while continuing to provide high-quality care to our community — a reminder that when we invest in our staff, we strengthen the entire organization.
