HMG Cost Model Project with Kauffman and Associates

The HMG Cost Model project kicked off in May with Kauffman and Associates (KAI) as the lead consultant on this body of work. KAI will work with the HMG state affiliate, WithinReach, and all sub-affiliates to develop a set of cost models and budgets in order to understand the financial investment needed to support the existing and emerging HMG WA network. We will keep you posted on this exciting project.

HMG Parent Newsletter Launched in May

Help Me Grow WA launched its first parent newsletter last month, in both English and Spanish. The newsletter offered information about the HMG experience for families with young children, how to get connected in different parts of the state, and highlighted a blog demystifying developmental screenings. Read the newsletter hereWe will continue to provide information of interest to parents and caregivers in this quarterly newsletter. If you would like to receive the newsletter, let us know by responding to this email.

Help Me Grow Regional News

In Skagit County...

The Help Me Grow Skagit team sent out outreach bins to 24 local medical offices to encourage HMG referrals. In the bins, providers received a sample pack of the new Help Me Grow Rx Pads. Providers can give these out to patients when there is not a direct referral to Gaby, the Skagit Family Resource Navigator, or if the family prefers to reach out to Gaby themselves. If you are a health care provider in Skagit County, sign up for the HMG Skagit County Provider Newsletter to stay up to date on activities and learning opportunities.

Additionally, HMG Skagit County is hosting a free, virtual learning opportunity for health care providers on August 2, from 7 - 8 am. Dr. Jody Cousins will share how to implement a primary care strategy focused on lactation and infant feeding. The opportunity is primarily geared toward Skagit County providers but open to all. Register today.

In Central Washington...

In May, Help Me Grow Central WA collaborated with Sunnyside United-Unidos on an event called the Key Leaders Luncheon. This event was attended by over 100 community members. At the event, Lindsay and Marina, the HMG Central WA leads, had the opportunity to talk about Help Me Grow/Ayúdame a Crecer Central WA and present Carina as the Family Resource Navigator. Promotional materials were distributed at every table so attendees could learn more about HMG.
