The Olympia Tumwater Foundation is proud to announce the launch of Friends of the Falls, a new membership program created to support the long-term stewardship, preservation, and future of Brewery Park at Tumwater Falls.

For generations, Tumwater Falls has been a place where families gather, visitors discover the beauty of the Deschutes River, children watch salmon return each autumn, and community members create lasting memories.

Unlike many public parks, Brewery Park at Tumwater Falls is privately owned and maintained by the Olympia Tumwater Foundation. The park logged more than 271,000 visits in 2025, yet the park operates without ongoing government operating support. Friends of the Falls was created to give community members a meaningful way to support the park they love.

“Tumwater Falls is one of the most beloved places in our region,” said Lee Wojnar, President of the Olympia Tumwater Foundation. “Friends of the Falls gives the community an opportunity to play a direct role in preserving and strengthening this special place for future generations.”

The membership program offers several levels of participation beginning at $10 per month. Members receive a variety of benefits, including park updates, volunteer and recognition opportunities, event benefits, and exclusive member experiences depending on membership level.

Friends of the Falls reflects the Foundation’s belief that stewardship is a shared responsibility. Membership support helps fund ongoing maintenance, preservation efforts, educational programming, habitat stewardship, and improvements that enhance the visitor experience throughout Brewery Park.

The launch comes as the Foundation prepares for the next chapter in the park’s history. Revenue generated through Friends of the Falls during the program’s first two years will help support development of the planned History & Nature Center while also strengthening the Foundation’s ability to care for the park and its natural resources.

“Friends of the Falls comes at an important moment for Brewery Park,” said Cutts. “As visitation continues to grow and we prepare for the park’s next chapter, community support will help us care for this extraordinary place, expand educational opportunities, and ensure it remains a treasured community asset for years to come.”
