Dear Colleagues,
Over the past few weeks, AltaMed Gives has seen a rise in requests from our clinics to assist patients experiencing disruptions in their lives. Due to recent events in our communities, many have been unable to work or even go out to buy basic necessities such as groceries.
In response, the AltaMed Foundation has launched the Immediate Impact Fund to support our patients and participants, who are experiencing urgent needs. This fund is an expansion of our current AltaMed Gives program. Through the Immediate Impact Fund, AltaMed Gives will provide funds to patients, who are struggling to make ends meet during this difficult time, allowing them to purchase groceries and other essential items.
Many of us come from the same neighborhoods that AltaMed serves and we have faced similar struggles. You know what it’s like to worry about paying rent, stretching groceries to last the week, or making difficult decisions about health care. You see yourself and your own family in the faces of the people we serve. That shared experience is what makes AltaMed special — and it’s why this is a moment for us to come together again and support our community.
