This inclusive playground effort has been spearheaded by Raymond's family, in particular his mom who is one of our own -- NJANA Board Member Maureen McCartney Anderson, DNP, CRNA, APN-A, SIM Lab Director, Rutgers Educator, and Community Advocate.
"I am a mom trying to give her son a place in this world, A place where differences don’t matter. Raymond’s presence makes the world a better place, and everyone he encounters has the opportunity to be a better human from meeting him. We just need to be able to be present to make that difference and spark change," said Maureen.
Maureen spent countless hours pleading with township leaders for inclusive playground access. Finally, the township gave the green light and appointed Maureen to lead the committee to design and implement a playground, but this requires outside funding to accomplish.
NJANA CAREs, the charitable arm of NJANA, is asking our CRNA nation to help support our fellow provider, mother, and community activist by purchasing raffle tickets to support a group donation to this worthy cause -- raise money to build an inclusive playground and recreation space to help make Raymond's dream come true!
