Help Support the MRC!

couple fighting 2When they began the program, they were on the verge of breaking up. "I had moved out of our home and was very angry. Although I had legitimate reasons for my anger, I had not realized how improperly we had been dealing with my feelings and the issues that arose within our relationship. Through the Marriage Resource Center we have been able to reconcile, move back in together, and are dealing with our issues in an adult-like fashion. After about four months of attending the Third Option class we are holding ourselves personally responsible for our individual decisions and actions, and are working together to make life better for the future." With a divorce rate as high as 73% in Southeast Michigan, Deniesha and Louis' story is a common one; but when the drama and destruction we see is as pervasive as it now seems we often ask, "Why should we care?...we can't really do anything about it." But the truth is that there is much that can be done, and there is an organization in Southeast Michigan that is doing it.

Founded in 2004 as a community-based 501(c)3, the Marriage Resource Center is making a significant difference in the lives of your neighbors and with families throughout the Greater Detroit area. Both daily visitors to our office and numerous workshop participants express how great the need is for the relationship-strengthening programs we offer, as well as thanking us for the impact MRC has already made on their lives.

"Your program helped save our marriage. We are now able to communicate better and are able to finally just enjoy each other without taking each other for granted." -Sara T., participant

Other relationship professionals support our work as well, and encourage us to continue our efforts:

"I plan to spread to the word to all the married couples I know. Our society truly needs the Marriage Resource Center." -Marlo J., therapist

"Thanks for the work you perform at the Marriage Resource Center. We look forward to working with you to strengthen marriages and family." -Ken B., pastor

As trained educators, the Marriage Resource Center proactively assists people in finding solutions to their relationship challenges. Our programs are structured to teach couples open lines of communication, to handle money issues calmly, and to develop a balance between their personal and professional lives. Teens and singles learn how to develop healthy relationships from the start and to avoid situations that put them at risk of domestic violence. With appropriate funding, these programs are offered at low or even no cost to participants.

But now we are asking for your help. As you can imagine, this work requires time, effective programs, and committed staff; with your contribution our work can continue, allowing us to reach your neighbors, family members, and thousands more. Please visit our website or call our office to make a life-altering donation. Your financial support is crucial to continue these programs. We look forward to the amazing life transformations your contribution will provide.

Sincerely,

Julie Bock
