TWO WAYS OF HELPING THOSE IN NEED THIS HOLIDAY SEASON

Goshen Giving

As an entire school community, we would like to once again brighten the holidays for the residents of the Devereux PA Children's IDD Services (formerly the Kanner Center). The center provides high-quality residential treatment and special education services to over 300 children and adolescents ages 6 to 21 with mental disabilities. Many of these residents have no families and rely on the generosity of the community for their Christmas wishes to come true.

The center has asked our Goshen Friends Community to help make Christmas special for their residents. The children need the following items:

Hats, gloves, and mittens (adult sizes)

Bins will be in each classroom to collect items from November 28 to December 14.

Our 4th grade students will deliver the gifts to Devereux, during which time they will take a tour of the school and have an opportunity to meet the Devereux students.

Operation Santa

Your family can adopt (or co-adopt with other friends or families) a resident of the Devereux PA Children's IDD Services to provide Christmas presents from their wish lists. Devereux also needs our help in providing gifts for newly admitted children and children who did not expect to be at Devereux on Christmas morning. Again, for many who have no family connections, these gifts will be the only gifts they receive.
