Welcome to the second HERE FOR GOOD Digest, United Way of the Greater Capital Region (UWGCR)'s weekly newsletter. Two weeks into our annual campaign season, we're already blown away by the overwhelming support and enthusiasm about the impact of our work in the eight counties we serve.

Along with our individual donors and volunteers, the generosity of our corporate partners and their employees empowers UWGCR to fight for the 38% of Capital Region households that live below the ALICE threshold and struggle to afford basic necessities. For historically underserved communities, like Black and Hispanic households and households led by single mothers, conditions are even more challenging. Read the latest United For ALICE Report to learn more.

To ensure we're building a community where no one is left behind, UWGCR is investing more than $3 million dollars in the local nonprofit sector over the course of 2022 and 2023. This provides funding to 73 community-based organizations that offer direct services to families and individuals who call the Capital Region home. We look forward to telling you more about the impact of some of these partners in the weeks ahead. We hope you'll support our commitment to being HERE FOR GOOD by making a donation to UWGCR today. Thank you for your support!

Over the next few months, we'll be sharing a new series of videos that highlight the community-based organizations, corporate partners, individual donors and volunteers that enable UWGCR to be HERE FOR GOOD. We're excited to share these stories with you! We begin with The RED Bookshelf's Paul "Batman" Collins-Hackett and RPI's Jacqueline Farmer and Caitlin Watts.

GE STEIN HOLDING CONTEST AT WOLFF'S BIERGARTEN

No different from our friends at RPI, our partners at GE Vernova love a little friendly competition to get their team in the giving spirit! Last week's Stein Holding contest at Wolff's Biergarten raised funds for GE's United Way campaign and gave all of us the chance to enjoy a few laughs together.

Thank you to Heather Converse and campaign chair Marieke LeMonds for hosting another fantastic event! Stay tuned for GE's "Why I Give" video next week!

CUMMINS BIKE BUILD

A big thank you goes out to our friends at Cummins, whose employees spent Friday morning assembling bikes for Capital Region kids.
