IT'S GIVING SEASON!

Today, December 2nd, is Giving Tuesday -

and we need you with us!

It’s been a remarkable year at the Center for Black Literature, and we are excited to continue offering engaging programs that delight the senses, spark creativity, encourage your inner writer, and bring our community together—all through the power of Black literature.

This “Giving Season,” we are proud to partner with Brooklyn.org to help amplify our mission. Your support ensures that the Center for Black Literature can continue to build and expand audiences for the reading, discussion, research, study, and critical analysis of Black literature through impactful programs and partnerships.

For nearly 25 years, CBL has championed Black writers through signature programs like the National Black Writers Conference, the Re-Envisioning Our Lives through Literature (ROLL) Youth Program, the Wild Seeds Writers Retreat for Writers of Color, and the Dr. Edith Rock Writing Workshop for Elders, and more. These programs not only celebrate Black literature—they cultivate new voices, deepen community engagement, and ensure our stories are studied, honored, and shared.

Beginning today, we invite you to visit our page on Brooklyn.org and make a donation to the Center for Black Literature. Your contribution directly supports our work with youth, elders, writers, scholars, and the global community.

Please don’t wait—your timely gift makes all the difference! Giving Day is today, December 2nd, and we need you with us!

Help amplify our mission: forward this email and encourage others to give today.

Thank you for being part of our community and for championing Black literature.

With gratitude,

Team CBL
