Hello Friends,

A few weeks ago, a friend texted me out of the blue, "This kid just quoted you, 'A man named Chris Waddell came to my school and taught us that it's not what happens to you. It's what you do with what happens to you.'"  Luke Weber, now a high school senior, was just ten years old when I visited his school. A month prior doctors had diagnosed him with cancer for the third time, this one with the kicker, "No known cure."  Today, he raises hundreds of thousands of dollars for the Cancer Society, shares his story with leaders like my friend and hopes to start at Brown in the fall. I'm honored that he credits our Nametags program with "the push he needed to stop being the victim."

We all need that push from time to time. At the end of this school year, One Revolution will have reached 1,000 schools and almost 400,000 students since 2008. I knew that we had inspired kids, but I hadn't realized that we'd created ambassadors of resilience to share our universal message. Most schools lack the resources to fund our program. We rely on your support to empower students, and to reach another 100 schools and 37,500 students, one or more of whom might be another Luke.

New this year, thanks to the generous support of Missy and Matt Kelly owners of Cat Tongue Grips, each donor will receive a One Revolution logoed grip for his/her phone. Those contributing over $150 will receive a very cool American Giant One Revolution T-shirt from clothing innovator and old friend Bayard Winthrop.

For March of 2021, we will roll out an Exclusive Ski Retreat with Deer Valley and the St Regis for a core group and members of the our board to give us the financial and strategic means to reach 1 million students and deepen our effect. $25,000 or more is a big donation, but it would give you an experience of a lifetime and the opportunity to shape a world where we push past being the victim.

Thank you and Happy Holidays from Tanzania, where I celebrated the ten year anniversary of the Kilimanjaro climb with two One Revolution Documentary screenings and four Nametags presentations on a board member sponsored trip where we also worked with the Sport Diplomacy Department of the US Embassy and the State Department.

Sincerely,
Chris Waddell
