Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado (VOC) is excited to announce that applications for the Grossman Scholarships are now open for the 2025-2026 school year.


Thanks to Rick and Susie Grossman for their continued commitment to fostering educational opportunities for Colorado students who have demonstrated a proven commitment to caring for our environment's natural resources. Through the My Outdoor Colorado (MOC) Coalition, additional scholarship funds are available to be awarded to those connected with the Cole or Westwood neighborhoods of Denver or have been involved with any MOC coalition organizations*.

A Breakdown of VOC's 2025-26 Scholarships

  • $5,000 and $10,000 scholarships are available for graduating high school seniors.
  • $5,000 and $10,000 scholarships are available for those pursuing an undergraduate degree, either as a continuation of study or after a postponement of study**.
  • Additional scholarship funds of at least $5,000 are available through the MOC Coalition for graduating high school senior applicants and those pursuing undergraduate degrees who previously or currently live, work, or attend school in Denver's Cole and/or Westwood neighborhoods OR are involved/have been involved with any of the MOC Coalition organizations*.


All applicants must be pursuing post-secondary education in Colorado at an accredited environmental, natural resource, climate, or outdoor industry-related education program.


Applications will be accepted through February 2, 2025.

*Applicants are eligible for the MOC scholarship funds if they have or currently live, work, attend school, or are otherwise connected to the Cole or Westwood neighborhoods OR if they have been or are currently involved with any of the MOC coalition organizations (See website for a list of participating MOC organizations).


**Anyone who is currently pursuing an undergraduate degree or who will be continuing their pursuit of an undergraduate degree after a postponement of studies. Postponement of studies includes, but is not limited to: individuals who postponed or were unable to complete their post-secondary education degree fully due to financial or familial circumstances and others seeking a new career path requiring post-secondary education.

Founded in 1984, VOC is a nationally recognized leader in outdoor volunteerism, having helped more than 135,000 people of all ages get involved in and become inspired to care for Colorado's outdoors.
