Hurricane Matthew Update 2 -  October 6, 2016
Dear friend,

Thank you for your continued prayers and support in the wake of Hurricane Matthew. All of us at Heartline Ministries are deeply grateful for your love and concern during this challenging time.

We have made contact with nearly all of the children, women, and men involved in Heartline's programs. We are grateful to report that as far as we know, everyone is safe. Currently, we know that at least one dozen families in our network have suffered considerable  damage to their homes and belongings.  With significant flooding in and around Port-au-Prince, we are diligently contacting each family to assess their needs and learn how we can best support their recovery. We thank God for his provision and protection, but our hearts are heavy for victims whose livelihoods and homes have been devastated by the storm.

The full extent of damage is uncertain because emergency workers have been unable to reach the worst hit parts of Haiti's southern peninsula. Washed out bridges, impassable roads, and severed communication networks cut off the coastal communities most heavily crushed by the storm.

Many of you have asked how you can help. Heartline is launching an emergency relief and recovery program. We are now accepting donations that will help us to:
  1. Meet the critical needs of children and families we serve who suffered loss due to the hurricane, and
  2. Provide much needed resources to partner organizations working in the worst affected areas.

A note to faithful Heartline Ministries donors: The children and families served through Heartline programs are counting on your continued support. We greatly appreciate your ongoing, regular giving that funds our existing ministries.

Thank you for your heartfelt prayers, gifts, and words of encouragement. As vulnerable Haitians cope with another tragedy, we are grateful for your solidarity and support.
