Restaurants Reopening with Care (5/15)


On May 13th The Humboldt County Office of Emergency Services (OES) launched an online portal for phase 2 businesses to submit their Reopening Plans .

Join a group of restaurant owners getting together by Zoom on Friday, May 15th from 2:30 to 4 pm to brainstorm together how to do this in the safest, wisest way. North Coast small biz co-opetition at its finest!

This will be a Humboldt-centric event because of the new certification process but Del Norte restaurant owners are warmly invited as well.

Restaurant owners--consider asking about:
  • pros / cons of "hold harmless" agreements
  • the governor's new executive order specifying that employees required to come to a workplace who are diagnosed with COVID-19 will be presumed to have gotten it at work and can claim workers' comp
  • and more.

Get Your Take-out Menus into Eureka's Virtual Friday Night Market! (6/7)

If you are a locally-owned restaurant get your menu onto the recommended guide for take out on the site. The idea is when customers are picking up their package of Friday Night Market goodies from the Visitor Center they will then pick up dinner on the way home. Send for the listing the restaurant name, link to your full menu, and a telephone number. There is no charge for being listed. Targeted launch is June 7th.
