Your business can make a difference by bringing joy and a smile to our local families this holiday season!
Twenty-four families are selected to receive assistance through Adopt-a-Family from The Chamber Foundation's Workforce Development Center Programs: Dutchess County Youth One Stop, Workforce Connections, Next Gen Career Academy or the Career Action Center at the Poughkeepsie High School. These programs assist at-risk and low-income families and individuals with employment, education and supportive services.
Each business will have an opportunity to adopt one family from these programs and work with a Chamber staff member to make their wishes come true! Please have all gifts wrapped and labeled. We accept both gifts and monetary donations. We would like gifts to be gathered by Friday, December 9th. We will be delivering the gifts to their families during the week of Monday, December 19th.
Who can participate?
Any business, family or individual can adopt a family.
How big will the family be?
We will work with you on selecting a family that will fit the size of your business donation capacity.
How will I know what to buy?
Our families have very basic needs. They often ask for food items, warm winter clothing, holiday decorations, and household items. We will provide you with a list of the family’s needs and a couple of wishes. What you give is an individual decision. (Of course, all kids love to receive a new toy!)
Where do I deliver the gifts?
You can arrange gifts to be dropped off at the Chamber Office or we can pick it up for you! If you select pick up, we will coordinate a pick up schedule with you.
