St Luke’s Breakfast & Shower Ministry
Saturday, January 18, 7:30 To Approx 9:30 a.m.
What a great way to start your weekend - support St. Luke’s shower program for men and women without homes, in Long Beach. Every other month, on Saturday mornings from around 7:30 – 9:30 a.m., we provide a nourishing breakfast of hard-boiled eggs (prepared the night before by our youth group!), warm soup, crackers, muffins, fruit, hot coffee and chocolate. The St. Luke’s Breakfast and Shower Ministry always loves new volunteers, including families with children of middle-school age or older. Our Sage’s Speaker Series is pleased to announce that our Bishop of Los Angeles, the Rt. Rev. John Harvey Taylor, will join our Sages and those interested from our parish and community for a light lunch. Afterwards he will talk to us about “ Aging from a Spiritual Perspective,” among other things. This follows nicely upon our Aging Mastery program, which was presented this past fall, primarily from a secular perspective. Please sign up in the church office or contact Hank to rsvp.
Come Be a Super Singer!
Our St Francis choir has begun working on the beautiful Requiem by Maurice Durufle for our Evensong on March 29. This is a great time to come join us for the adventure of learning this gorgeous piece together. Super Singers come to the first half of rehearsals on Thursdays (7:15-8:15), and join us for the dress rehearsal and the special event. Come see what it's like! We're sure you'll like it! Each year we gather as one big church family to hear reports from lay and clergy leadership, to thank outgoing Vestry members, and elect new Vestry ones, to hear the announcement of a new Senior Warden, to vote for delegates to Diocesan Convention, and to appreciate our fellowship.

Taizé Service of Healing & Wholeness

A Men's Corner: Connecting With Other Men at St. Francis—Note Date Change

Do you wonder what happened to using the prayer book and the hymnal? Or, more importantly, are you curious about how the theology of worship has shifted over the last 30 years? Come along to Jude+'s meetings to find out!
Ongoing Spiritual Groups
Meditation Group - Thursday Mornings, 9:30—10:30 a.m. in the main sanctuary. No charge. Come and sit quietly with God for half an hour—however you choose to do that—followed by half an hour of bite-sized Bible Study and great conversation. All are welcome! No experience necessary! Drop-in when you can!
 
Yoga - Monday and Wednesday mornings 9-10:30am. All Levels Hatha (open to the public, free will offering). Contact Jill Lynch for more info.
