December 15, 2020
Dear Wonder Dog Friend,
This news is not what we wanted to share this holiday season, but we must. As of December 2019, Wonder Dog Rescue's home base has been a farm in Penngrove (in Sonoma County), and we named it Wonder Farm Animal Hospice and Sanctuary. I fulfilled one of my lifelong dreams. We adopted rescued farm animals — chickens, mini horses, pigs, bunnies, and a pygmy goat. We have been here one year and expected to be able to renew the lease. But just after Thanksgiving, we were given 30 days notice to move out. The owner told us she is selling the property.
Last week, we announced our year-end fundraiser to raise $40,000. We didn't expect that we would need to use those funds immediately for moving and boarding expenses.

As we look for a new place and also seek legal counsel, we plan to secure temporary housing from our nearby fellow animal sanctuaries, such as Flat Broke Farm, and our Wonder Farm team member Sylvia. We want to ensure that the animals are going to be safely homed! As for me, I will keep seeking solutions. Wonder Farm will continue, I promise!
We are humbly asking for your support.
Your donations will go towards our fundraising goal of $40,000. The funds keep us secure for the coming year to care for the dogs in foster and hospice, and it also means we can continue to say Yes to dogs at shelters who need rescue.

Additionally, your support will help us right now. We have unexpected expenses this month, such as move-out costs and boarding the farm animals.
We know the entire year has been incredibly challenging for everyone, including you.

Other ways to help could be to share our plight and also share any leads for properties for lease that can accommodate all of our animals.
The local newspaper, The Argus Courier, featured us in their latest issue.

The article featured beautiful photos of Wonder Farm, and shared our story and need for a new home. Read the article here, and please share!
Thankfully, we received a matching grant from a donor.
Donate between now and December 25, and your donations will be matched up to $1000. That means $10 becomes $20!
You donation enables us to have funds to:
  • Say yes to homeless dogs at risk of being euthanized at shelters.
  • Provide medical attention to our rescued dogs.
  • Cover expenses for moving and boarding.
  • Most importantly… save more lives in 2021!

Every life you save reminds us how important this work is. We must not lose hope!

Thank you for your dedication and support to Wonder Dog Rescue. We are grateful beyond words.
