Noemi Sarabia-Feria joined the Solid Waste & Recycling outreach team in August as a Bilingual Outreach Specialist. Her background is in Biology and Chicano/Latino Studies. Noemi's previous work included taking children from underrepresented groups to the Lower Columbia Estuary and Ross Island to teach them about the importance of the Willamette River’s ecosystem. During that time, she also learned how to navigate a 29-foot canoe. So much fun!
"Being a Bilingual Outreach Specialist for Washington County Solid Waste & Recycling is important for me because I will be able to reach out to minorities, listen to their concerns, and let them know that I am here to work with them. At the same time, I hope this work will make a difference and help improve our environment for my family and future generations."
Welcome to the team, Noemi!
