At Spay-Neuter Services of Indiana (SNSI), we’re helping proven winners as well as underdogs! We help shelters that have worked their tails off to achieve zero kill status (90% live release rate) and are working to maintain that level of success.

We’re also helping the underdog – the rescue groups and shelters with limited funding and too many animals. These shelters are striving to get to zero kill, but often have obstacles in their path. Did you know the vast majority of Indiana shelters and rescue groups are underfunded? Many are all volunteer or rely heavily on volunteers to look after the animals in their care. These hard-working underdogs need your help.
Spaying and neutering is a proven, game-winning strategy. You can be part of our winning team! Your financial support addresses the root cause of shelter overpopulation – too many unwanted animals. Spaying and neutering prevents this and brings big results.

In Indianapolis, the availability of free and low-cost surgeries has resulted in a 65% decrease in euthanasia in just five years. This means that 4,300 more animals were adopted rather than being euthanized!

In Northwest Indiana, SNSI is providing free spay/neuter certificates to 25 rescue groups and shelters, all working to ensure that every cat and dog they serve has a forever home.

Meet some of our team members from across the state. Together, we’re saving lives!
Muncie Animal Rescue Fund (ARF) found Minxi abandoned in an alley. She was covered in mange, hungry and frightened. Thankfully, ARF treated her disease, relying on SNSI to cover spay/neuter surgery costs for Minxi and many other dogs.
Look at Minxi now! She’s in her forever home with two siblings, growing stronger and happier every day – thanks to you!
Community cats in St. Joseph and Elkhart Counties received special attention this year, with SNSI securing a grant to provide more than 600 free surgeries for feral and free-roaming cats. Here’s the story of Hailey, who was an underdog, but is a winner now.

Hailey was found with oozing wounds after someone poured boiling liquid on her back, stripping her of large patches of fur and leaving her in tremendous pain. Mishawaka-based Meow Mission cared for Hailey’s wounds and worked with SNSI to get her fixed. Hailey has now been adopted and will spend the rest of her life in a safe home filled with love.
On a fall morning, Red Sky Rescue volunteers arrived at their shelter to find seven dogs that had been abandoned in the middle of the night. Thanks to your support, SNSI was able to provide free certificates to ensure all the dogs (and their puppies) were fixed. These little winners are now in their forever homes!
SNSI stepped up when Fort Wayne Animal Care & Control took in 16 German Shepherds and Great Danes, rescued from an unsanitary and overcrowded breeding operation. Several dogs required advanced medical treatment, putting a drain on the shelter’s medical budget. With SNSI covering the cost of the spay/neuter surgeries, the shelter could afford the medical expenses. Your support helped move these beautiful dogs out of a horrible situation and into loving homes.
Evansville’s Feline Fix was overwhelmed by the number of cats and kittens needing fixed. They had recently completed a project involving 50 cats, when they were notified of a colony of 30 cats in need.

With dwindling resources, Feline Fixed turned to SNSI for assistance. The two organizations joined forces, with SNSI covering the cost of spay/neuter, while Feline Fix trapped and cared for this colony. Thanks to you, everybody wins!
Nearly 250 rescue groups and shelters rely on SNSI’s assistance to achieve success. We help them by providing free spay/neuter surgery certificates. Our services help fix every animal before finding his or her forever home. Your financial support allows rescue groups to help more animals than they would otherwise be able to afford. In short, your gift prevents unnecessary euthanasia, saving thousands of lives each year.

Together, we’re doing what no one else thought was possible: we’re helping to drastically reduce euthanasia numbers in Indiana’s shelters. We’re committed to helping every shelter become zero kill.
Our goal is to say “Yes” to every request we receive. But we can’t do this alone. It’s a team effort, and we invite you to be a part of our winning team.

Your gift saves lives and prevents suffering . Animals that are fixed are ready to go to their forever homes. They are safe, warm and loved – because of you! Let’s make every shelter a winner – even the underdogs!
Warm wishes for the holidays,

Cheri Storms
