Make a Splash
is on Tour!

The 10th Annual Make a Splash Tour presented by Phillips 66 kicks-off a 4-stop event in record-breaking fashion!
World records, amazing athletes, and spreading the importance of learning to swim... it's all on tour!
The 10 th Annual Make a Splash Tour presented by Phillips 66 is underway and sweeping the country. The first Tour stop took place this past weekend and saw hundreds of children in the Washington, D.C. area participate in swim lessons with some of USA Swimming’s brightest stars and biggest legends including, Josh Davis, Missy Franklin, Rowdy Gaines, Andrew Gemmell, Cullen Jones , and Reece Whitley . Community members also joined in the activities to learn about the USA Swimming Foundation and the importance of learning to swim.
But there's more...
The 2018 Make a Splash Tour is reaching beyond the communities we’re physically visiting this year. We’ve “kicked-off” a campaign to urge Congress to add the question, “Do you know how to swim?” to the 2020 Census. And we did so in world-record fashion.

On Friday, June 1 the USA Swimming Foundation set a GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS® record for the World’s Largest Kickboard. This gigantic kickboard, which is 10 times the standard adult size board at 18 feet high by 11 feet wide, will serve as a larger-than-life petition for all Americans to urge Congress to add the question, “Do you know how to swim?” to the 2020 Census in order to gain an accurate count of a family’s ability to swim in the U.S.
We need YOUR help!
The 2018 Make a Splash Tour is also asking YOU to take a moment to help raise awareness of the importance of learning to swim. Visit http://bit.ly/swimfoundation and add your name in support of this cause.
The Make a Splash Tour takes place throughout June and brings USA Swimming Foundation ambassadors, Olympic medalists and elite athletes to four cities across the country to educate children, parents, communities and civic leaders on the importance of learning to swim.
Other Tour stops include:

  • Seattle, Wash. (June 4, 2018): with Olympians Nathan Adrian and Rowdy Gaines
  • San Francisco, Calif. (June 6, 2018): with Olympians Simone Manuel, Katie Ledecky, Cullen Jones, Ryan Murphy and Rowdy Gaines
