Help us break the cycle of poverty

At Worcester Community Action Council, we are gearing up for a demanding 2024 and we are asking for your support to help us toward our vision of breaking the cycle of poverty one neighbor at a time. Needs for our services have grown exponentially in the past year and we are expecting that will continue into the new year as the trailing impact of inflation lingers, the housing crisis persists, and the cost-of-living increases as shown by a 35% increase in heating costs and a 9% increase in food costs in 2023.

In 2023, aided by your past support, we have made important strides towards our vision. Together, we helped keep more than 22,000 homes warm with heating assistance, replaced and repaired 1,385 inoperable heating systems, provided 571 low-to-moderate income individuals with free income tax preparation, coached nearly 450 individuals toward their financial goals and community resources,

supported 790 young adults in obtaining meaningful employment, and readied more than 300 young children for learning and school success. We could not do this without you and ask that you continue to support this critical work!

Our capacity to deliver high-quality services to our most vulnerable populations- children, seniors, individuals with disabilities, and our low- and moderate-income families- is reliant on your history of generous support.
