Celebrating Manufacturing Week in Hamilton, October 23-27th

Last year WPH presented a successful Manufacturing Day event on October 24th at Mohawk College's Stoney Creek campus which brought together employers, and elementary and high school students. Students had the chance to try hand on activities, have a tour of Mohawk College and learn about the world of manufacturing from local employers.

This year, WPH and our partners, will be celebrating Hamilton Manufacturing Week during October 23-27th by creating a virtual event for student, teachers, parents.

In partnership with Edge Factor WPH will be taking the lead on sharing a free Rock MFG DAY Kit to inspire students and to reach parents.

The kit features a main story/ film and includes accompanying resources to inspire audiences, engage
students with discussions and hands-on activities, receive feedback and metrics, and to reach parents.

The week will also include updated data, posted on the Manufacturing Week website and shared out in our community which provides a snapshot of the manufacturing sector in Hamilton.

Stay tuned for updates on Hamilton Manufacturing Week in the near future!

How to cope with the workforce anxiety epidemic

The numbers are staggering - 41 per cent of Canadians are at high risk for mental-health issues, according to a recent poll.

Thirty-six per cent felt so stressed it affected their daily lives.
It's clear our environment is a leading driver of this epidemic. In all aspects of our lives, stressors have crept in, making it harder to decompress and find balance.

At work, intense competition and disruptive innovation are forcing organizations to navigate complex terrain. And these pressures are increasingly felt by employees.
