Help us continue and expand services to those most vulnerable
AIDS Foundation Houston is excited to be a part of the #GivingTuesdayNow campaign helping to unite the world around helping in our communities in response to the unprecedented changes we are all seeing as a result of COVID-19. While this epidemic may look different, AFH was founded in response to the HIV epidemic of the 1980s, and we are proud of the innovative and persevering spirit that is a part of our culture. We knew that our mission and services were important before the outbreak, and they remain critical during these times of uncertainty throughout our community.
We have continued to make it our top priority to stay on the forefront of the fight to end the epidemic, while putting the needs and safety of our clients and the community first. You can help us continue to make a difference in our community and continue to fight to #EndTheHIVEpidemic . During these times, your support of AIDS Foundation Houston allows us to continue to provide essential services to prevent HIV as well as continue to provide our housing and Stone Soup Food Pantry programs. Although our offices are closed, our team is hard at work finding innovative ways to seamlessly provide continued and expanded services to the community.”
Since mid-March, we have launched a partnership with MISTR, a FREE, at-home  HIV/STI testing service that provides FREE ACCESS to PrEP (a daily medication to prevent HIV). Continued to serve our Stone Soup clientele by providing food vouchers via the Stone Soup Food Pantry . We have conducted free testing and provided free PrEP to  111 new patients  through the MISTR portal and have conducted  54  telehealth visits through AFH’s in-house clinic. We have also continued to provide safe and secure housing to 217 individuals   during the stay-at-home order, providing food and PPE as needed.
We hope you will join us in the fight as we make it through this and any other challenges we might face along the path to ending the HIV epidemic.
