Every year, United Way of Racine County serves over 80,000 Racine County residents. We accomplish this by identifying community needs and investing in programs focused on healthy communities, youth opportunities, financial security and community resiliency. More Than 11,000 Young Readers Encouraged Since 2009


Since 2009, Imagination Library has enriched the lives of children under five in Racine County by delivering a free book to their doorstep each month. To date, the program has celebrated over 11,600 graduates and distributed more than 570,000 books.

Over $1 Million in State and Federal Refunds for

Racine County Residents


United Way’s VITA program provides free tax preparation and filing services for low-to moderate-income residents, including Spanish language options. This year the program was able to help more residents claim their refunds. In the 2024 tax season, over $1 million in state and federal refunds were returned to the Racine County community through VITA.

150+ Students Showcase Innovation at Science Fair


For the second year, United Way partnered with Modine, Racine Unified and the Milwaukee Bucks to host a science fair for over 150 students at Knapp and Julian Thomas community schools. Students collaborated in teams to design the best battery-powered car, showcasing their creativity and problem-solving skills. The winners earned tickets and transportation to a Milwaukee Bucks game, while all participants celebrated with Bango and the Rim Rockers.
