2021 DSP Survey Report

Created in partnership between ANCOR and RELIAS, highlights feedback from 679 DSPs across 43 states on job satisfaction, supervision, career advancement opportunities, and appreciation and recognition.

Using this data, organizational leaders in IDD services can inform policies for better working conditions that will increase DSP satisfaction and, ultimately, positively affect the individuals whom DSPs serve.

President Biden's Better Jobs, Better Care Act

Read Bill Summary Here

o  Historic legislation with historic investments on HCBS, including better rates, regular rate reviews, quality outcomes, seeking to address the workforce crisis.

o  Expecting another Reconciliation bill which may or may not have hard infrastructure components.

o  FMAP – it is not additive to the ARPA FMAP. Starts with an initial planning period and then making it “permanent” for 10 years. This is a key dial that may be adjusted as part of Reconciliation. Also, an additional 2% for Self-Directed Services, but states do not have to do that piece.

A big THANK YOU to The Further Foundation for awarding Friends of NASP a grant that will allow us to creatively recruit new DSPs! NASP ED Alana Schriver is excited to share more about this project at our next Monthly Member Meeting Tuesday, July 20th at 1:00pm.
