Helping Babies & Moms After Ida
Heartbeat Bill Saving Lives in Texas!
Greetings!

Our prayers go out to all those who have been impacted by Hurricane Ida. Like so many of you, many of our staff, volunteers, and board members, including myself, have been displaced. Our New Orleans office has a leaky roof, but we were spared major damage.

We are in touch with pregnancy centers across the region as they assess damage and strive to help moms and babies. As we have done in the past, we are collecting diapers and baby supplies and plan to distribute them in needed areas, beginning in Houma and Thibodaux, possibly as early as this weekend. You can either drop material donations off in Lafayette, or you can make a monetary donation and we will purchase supplies. You can learn more and donate at www.ProLifeLouisiana.org/ida. Louisiana will recover as always!

On the pro-life front, this week has brought exciting news from Texas as the Supreme Court allowed Texas' heartbeat law to go into effect with a 5-4 decision last night! This is a great sign for our heartbeat law that is still in federal court, along with the coming Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health case this fall. We are another step closer to stopping abortion in America!
Supreme Court Allows Texas Law To Go Into Effect! Babies are Being Saved Today!
Last night, the Supreme Court of the United States, in a 5-4 decision, denied abortionists’ petition to block enforcement of the Texas Heartbeat Act. The life-saving law took effect September 1, protecting unborn babies who have detectable heartbeats from abortion. The Supreme Court’s decision is a massive victory for the pro-life movement, as Texas is now the first state to enforce a heartbeat act.

PULSE Immersion for Students In North and Central Louisiana This Fall Oct. 22-24!
We are calling all pro-life students in central and north Louisiana to attend our PULSE Immersion Weekend this fall! The new PULSE is scheduled from Oct. 22 to Oct. 24 at the Grand Bayou Resort in Coushatta (north of Natchitoches). This will be an outstanding chance for students to be trained as leaders who can make an impact for life! Our Acadiana PULSE Immersion is scheduled for Nov. 5-7.

North / Central PULSE: Oct 22-24
Acadiana PULSE: Nov. 5-7

This year's 40 Days for Life campaign is Sept. 22 through Oct. 31, and vigil signups are now open in Louisiana! 40 Days for Life Louisiana vigils will be held outside abortion facilities in New Orleans, Baton Rouge and Shreveport.
We are disappointed that President Biden has condemned the pro-life Heartbeat law in Texas now saving babies from abortion. President Biden declared the law "extreme" and has launched a White House led effort to protect abortion-on-demand.
Billboards are up near abortion facilities in New Orleans and Baton Rouge and one will be up soon near the abortion facility in Shreveport to inform women that they can reverse their abortions. These billboards, and other ads we hope to put out, will supplement the information that is required in the facilities thanks to the passage of the Abortion Pill Reversal Disclosure Act. Can you support this effort and help us get the word out?
Life Chains are held each year in communities throughout Louisiana as pro-life Louisianans stand along roadways in prayerful protest against abortion. We hope as many communities as possible hold a local Life Chain so that the pro-life message reaches the eyes of thousands of citizens! Please contact local pro-life leaders in your community and offer your assistance on a local Life Chain, or start one yourself!
The Proudly Pro-Life Gala will return to an in-person event in 2022! The event is set for Jan. 15 at the Hyatt Regency New Orleans. State Sen. Katrina Jackson will receive the 2022 Proudly Pro-Life Award during the event, chaired this year by Kurt and Susan Crosby. Will you become a patron or sponsor today? Tickets are also on sale now.
The seventh Chers Bébés: Acadiana's Soirée for Life, is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 21, at Cathedral Hall in Lafayette. Last year's event had to be cancelled due to COVID restrictions, but this year the event will be back better than ever! Will you become a patron for the event as we honor Sharon Fontenot and Dr. Kim and Bonnie Hardey?
Get your pro-life face mask now for just $5 while supplies last! As COVID-19 spikes in our state, a mask mandate is now back in effect. This is a great way to spark conversation and share your pro-life views!
