Greetings! your faithful prayers and support have helped the children and families we serve stay optimistic during a difficult time. Because of you, children continue to learn during the COVID-19 school closures, desperate families have received food assistance, and communities have been educated and provided with critical hygiene supplies. Thank you, and may God bless you and yours!
CRC distributes solar radios to students
As part of their COVID response, the CRC is providing students with solar powered radios, so they can participate in government sponsored educational radio broadcasts during school closures. While the developed world has shifted to online learning during the pandemic, this is not an option for the vast majority of Sierra Leoneans, and certainly not for families served by the CRC, who are among the most vulnerable in the nation. By providing solar powered radios, even those whose homes lack electricity can listen to the daily broadcasts.

This is especially critical for students who are slated to take promotional exams to advance to the next level of their education, and these students are receiving the radios first. The students also receive face masks and time tables for the radio programs.

Bishop Yambasu, CRC founder, helped the CRC staff distribute solar radios to students for home study during school closures.
A microfinance success story: "This is how my children and I are surviving"
When her husband died, it became very difficult for Fatmata to provide for her children, Rashidatu, Ibrahim and Junisa. The CRC came to her aid and made it possible for her to keep the children in school. Fatmata attended the CRC's microfinance training, and upon graduation received a small loan to start a sewing business. With the skills she learned from the program, Fatmata was able to pay back her loan and buy materials to help grow her business. She now sells material to other tailors and mentors CRC families who are new to microfinance.

"This is how my children and I are surviving," Fatmata says, proudly displaying a beautiful blouse she created.  "We will always be grateful to the CRC and the sponsors. I will never forget the impact they are making in my children's lives."
This year, the Child Reintegration Centre celebrates 20 years of providing a brighter future to vulnerable children in Sierra Leone, breaking the cycle of poverty and stabilizing families. Please join us to commemorate the ground-breaking work of the CRC with your gift of $20 or more, which will be used to rescue street children and provide family-strengthening skills.

Let the little children come to me

At that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Who, then, is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?” He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them. And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me."

Matthew 18:1-5 NIV
