Tax program is a win win

Several evenings a week, clients come looking for a safe haven to have their taxes prepared and filed. Returns are prepared by a team of professionals who are volunteering their time to help make a difference. The volunteers on most nights come away with have a high degree of certainty that they made a difference in several lives that evening.

Last year one client went through a particularly difficult divorce and this created a large tax liability. Our preparer went above and beyond by working with her lawyer to file an amended return long after the tax season had ended. This year when she came to have her returns filed she received over $8,000 in refunds. Needless to say last year’s tears of sorrow turned into tears of joy this year.

Some nights it is hard to figure who receives the greater satisfaction, the client or the preparer. On this night the preparer and client were each
completely gratified in their own way.

We are so thankful to have such dedicated volunteers. We are also so thankful to have your support. Together we can all make a difference in peoples' lives.

Your car has been good to you – now let it be good to your neighbors in need. You can support Beverly Bootstraps by donating your running or non-running car, boat, truck, van or SUV. It’s easy and free, and you may qualify for a tax deduction.

Snacks for the kids

The Institution for Savings brought lots of healthy kids snacks and then packed them up for the Food Pantry to give out to families as they visit the Food Pantry. Thank you!
Over a ton donated

The Beverly Shaw's recently donated over 2,400 pounds of food (thats 4 pallets!) to our Food Pantry. It was collected through their Spirit of Giving Food Drive. Thank you to Shaw's and their local customers for supporting this food drive and Beverly Bootstraps.
Jeans Day raises funds

Thank you to North Shore Bank and all their employees who participated in their Jeans Day program. For a $5 donation to Beverly Bootstraps, they were allowed to wear jeans to work! They presented us with a check for $1,500!
Community Yoga
1st and 3rd Sunday of the Month, at 10am
The Healing Center, 317-319 Rantoul Street, Beverly

The Healing Center   will be holding a Community Yoga class on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of each month from 10:00-11:00am. This is a basic hatha yoga class where beginners are welcome and encouraged. Practice meaningful, accessible asana, and support a local charity while you're at it! All proceeds will go to Beverly Bootstraps. Bring yourself, some water, and a mat. Mats will be available to borrow if needed!
Suggested Donation: $5-$10 (but any and all contributions are welcome!)


Boots & Blooms Gala

Spring into Color at the Boots & Blooms Gala to help support local families in need. Earth Day Celebration at the Thrift Shop
