Greetings!

To start off, I want to commend our community yet again – over 6,700 donors have raised over $250,000 through our Facebook fundraiser. When we add those that have donated through our website, the amount is closer to $275,000. I want to reiterate how humbled we are by the support of our community. This is so small feat, and these funds will go a long way in helping the thousands of individuals affected by flooding in Iran. As the situation has worsened, we are continuing to monitor the situation on the ground, and hoping to raise and distribute at least $400,000 to our sister organization in Iran.

With Nowruz holidays having come to an end on Saturday, we are now thankfully in touch with staff at our 29 offices throughout the country, assessing and coordinating how best to utilize these funds. As we wait for funds raised to be released to us from Facebook, we want to thank and acknowledge the work local organizations and community members have been doing in addressing pressing matters, such as lack of access to drinking water and food. I encourage each and every one of you to donate to the Flood Fund here

With gratitude,

Kamyar Lashgari

Report from Staff in Iran
Many of our sponsors were rightfully worried about their sponsored children with the devastation that flash floods have caused in Iran. Yesterday, we received good news from Iran that our staff and social workers in affected areas such as Shiraz, Khuzestan, Lorestan, Kermanshah, Amol, Bushehr and Mashhad have checked on every sponsored child and they are all doing well. Thankfully, none of our sponsored children or their respective families have perished, and only a small number had their houses damaged from the floods. We will continue to check up on our staff and children around the country, and thank all those who have reached out to check on them. Given the scale of destruction, authorities have postponed opening up schools, given that many are no longer usable. This will unfortunately affect the education of thousands of students. To support these students in the meantime, donate here
