San Francisco Collaborative Against Human Trafficking

Meet one of Milagro's new grantees, San Francisco Collaborative Against Human Trafficking. Founded in 2009, (SFCAHT) is a cross-sector coalition with membership of over 70 agencies and organizations from the law enforcement, government, and non-profit sectors working with a mission to eradicate human trafficking through education, advocacy, prevention and protection of the survivors.

Youth survivors are provided 24/7 crisis line assistance that includes safety planning, peer counseling, psychological and emotional support, help with navigating available resources, and coordinated referrals to shelters, long-term housing, legal services, mental & physical health services, case management, immediate need services (e.g. safe space, food and clothing,) child protective services, and law enforcement assistance and protections.

In addition, scholarships are available for youth survivors of human trafficking and youth at risk of violence and exploitation to support their reintegration through education and professional development.

Bridge the Gap, Marin City, CA

Bridge the Gap celebrates 38 of its seniors graduating from High school, with 100% of them going on to college, the military or career training.

“Cross the Bridge” is a new program entering year two in partnership with UC Davis. This is a 4-night residential college experience for rising HS juniors/seniors to build college confidence.

Students are able to envision themselves attending college by spending time on campuses with peers and supportive staff. Immersing them in a college environment - dorm stays, workshops, campus meals, peer mentorship, and faculty engagement gives each student a little taste of college life.

The Mosaic Project

Over the last 26 years Mosaic has been PEACING it together with its effective social-emotional learning curriculum. Their program is designed to address issues of differences, build self-esteem, and inspire inclusion. All this learning happens alongside a whole lot of fun!

The Mosaic Project serves the San Francisco Bay Area youth and currently partners with 34 elementary schools to bring 4th and 5th grade classes to its flagship program, the Outdoor Project.
