Being The Hands and Feet of Jesus
Mrs. Sue Wilson, high school math teacher, recently headed an initiative of encouragement for the heroes of Henry Piedmont Hospital. There were goodie bags, packs of crackers, granola bars, chips, chocolate, water bottles, hot chocolate mix and cards… lots of cards! This was a combined effort of classes from elementary and high school.

Donna Braddy, Director of Community Relations at Piedmont Henry, was VERY appreciative of the donation and was very surprised to see the number of items. She said, "I need to go get a cart to get all of this into the building!" When the cards, snacks and other items were counted up, it totaled 860 items that were shared with the staff at the hospital!

Thank you for taking the time to participate and encourage!!
MOCK TRIAL PRELIMINARY ROUND

Teams will advance to the Mid-Level Rounds in early March, followed by the top 32 teams moving on to the State Finals Tournament the week of March 13-21. ELCA's team is led by Mrs. Melody Allred. ELCA has earned, for the second year, the College Board's AP® Computer Science Female Diversity Award for expanding young women’s access to AP Computer Science Principles (CSP). ELCA is one of only 831 schools to be recognized for achieving this important result in CSP.

This honor recognizes the outstanding work ELCA is doing to engage more female students in computer science.

Did You Know About This?
ELCA now has a bass fishing team and club! "Over the years, a few students have approached me wanting to get a fishing team and club together. Honestly, I didn't want to take on one more thing cause I felt I couldn't give it the attention it deserved. About year and half ago I felt like the Lord wanted me to start a fishing club, so I started checking with administration into the possibility and the logistics to make it happen," says Mike Haralson.

"I approached several families about giving some money to go towards the purchase of a boat for the club. Those families were very gracious and we proceeded in looking for a boat. In the fall of 2019, GHSA announced that Bass Fishing would become an official sport sanctioned by GHSA. The tournaments ended up being cancelled due to Covid. Fast forward to this past weekend, our team competed in the inaugural GHSA Bass Fishing tournament that was held at Lake Seminole, Ga. We did not qualify for state but we have other opportunities in front of us.

"Fishing gives ELCA students another sport to participate in. There is so much to learn from being in a tournament setting and student benefit by getting away from the devices and being out on the water. Fishing definitely teaches patience and perseverance.

"Fishing costs money. We do have a small budget, but we are always looking for sponsors. If you feel led to give of your resources to the Bass Fishing team and club please contact me at Mike Haralson

"Finally, I want to personally thank those families for believing in our cause to get kids out of the house and onto the water."

ELCA's goal is to have 100% family participation in our ELCA Fund each year. It's not too late to participate! This is a year-long campaign that continues through June 30, 2021. Every gift counts and...It's GREAT to be ALL IN!
A Gift that Costs You Nothing
Great news!
Thanks to the increase in the overall cap on education tax credits to $100 million, you still have an opportunity to secure your 2021 GOAL tax credit.

We hope you will take a moment to show your school some love this Valentine's Day by applying for your credit today!

This is a fantastic opportunity to make a remarkable impact on deserving Georgia families and the overall financial health of your school community, all while receiving a 100% Georgia income tax credit for your contribution. It's a WIN-WIN-WIN!

Important information for business owners:
Final IRS regulations provide that a payment made by a pass-through business to a charity (such as an SSO for a designated private school) may qualify for an ordinary and necessary business expense deduction, even where the owners receive a state income tax credit for the payment. See HERE for examples of federal tax benefit, which is $3,500 for a $10,000 contribution under certain circumstances.

Continuing Our Mission Through the Pandemic
Throughout the pandemic, SAGE has remained strong. Our operations continued uninterrupted as we served more than 30 communities through the spring and summer, allowing us to create and refine new safety and service protocols. To connect with families and students learning remotely, we produced 60 at-home cooking and food safety videos, and we invested in extensive safety training for all Team Members.
