A Global Companionship Initiative of the Jesuit Schools Network
Dear JSN Hemispheres Partners and Participants:
Introducing something new at this time of the school year can run contrary to the general mindset of closure and completion, but please hear the compliment in this invitation louder than the annoyance of it.
Here's the deal...
Over the course of the next couple months, I would appreciate your help in getting our Hemispheres initiative moved into its second phase - model building. We have established wonderful partnerships in our first year, and it is time to construct a model by which global companionship can be integrated into our school communities.
Here's how we can begin that building...
I have set up an interactive discussion module within the JSN Online Community which can act as a platform for conversation about the best model for organizing and measuring the integration of global companionship in our schools. Here's what you can do quickly in order to participate:
Establish an account within our online community. It is super-fast to do this, and you can use your Google or Facebook identity if you wish. You will receive a verification email which will allow you to click through and finalize your account.
Click the play button and note the introductory slide, which explains how to participate in a VoiceThread. The JSN is exploring this platform for collaborative planning; you are among the test pilots!
You can respond to the models by commenting in the discussion thread or by adding a comment directly to the VoiceThread. To do the latter, you will be prompted to log in or set up a quick VoiceThread identity.
Among the cool features of VoiceThread is the ability to relocate this embedded thread elsewhere to solicit more input. For now, I'd like to house this conversation within the JSN online community, but it certainly can be ported elsewhere.
Let's see where the conversation takes us. The possibilities are many, and the time is ideal for our growth as companions to the world.
If you have questions, suggestions, or comments, please send them along.
Thanks and Peace,
Timothy Sassen, Ph.D. Director of Global Partnerships and Communications Jesuit Schools Network
