Grounding in Faith with Pastor Elizabeth

I laughed out loud during worship on Sunday when our Children's Ministry leader assured those of us in worship that Jesus was a "party animal". Well now!

Mayme's point was this: Jesus lived and taught that we cannot do life alone. It is vital to our spiritual and physical well-being to gather with others to learn, to love, and to play. Here at Hennepin we are inviting you to do just that: Gather to learn, to love, and to play.

This Sunday is a bonanza! We have worship at 10am bookended by classes and 9:00am and 11:15am. There is brunch! After a costume change we are hosting Trunk or Treat for the neighborhood. We want our neighbors to experience the joy of building community together. We are partnering with Old School by Steeple People and the Bridge for Youth.

And then, at 7:00pm in our Art Gallery we have the chance to gather to hear poetry and music meant to feed our souls. Soul Cafe is a feast.

The above is just one day of the 365 of the year this church proclaims welcome.

Join in! Invite your friends!

We are the people of Jesus the Christ. We need each other. Does that make us party animals? You tell me.

We’re excited to share that several members of our Creation Collective were interviewed for an article in Garrett Seminary’s "Field Notes." As Benjamin Perry writes, “Hennepin is a model and catalyst for regenerative convergences that flow inward for deep congregational change and outward for widespread systemic transformation.” This feature highlights how our congregation is working to embody a vision of ecological healing rooted in faith and collaboration. Hennepin Church’s campaign to support the education of student in the small town of Baiwalla, Sierra Leone is finished for the year. $96,684 was raised to support the education of nearly 500 students enrolled in the Ormsby School as they begin their 6th year.
