Children's Choir

Sundays, March 12-April 2 • 11:15am-12pm

Border Chapel

Unfortunately the Easter Children's Choir will be canceled. We didn't get enough interest. It is my hope that we can get a robust Children's Choir up and running once a new Director of Worship is hired.

In the meantime we will continue to learn new songs with our Sunday School kids during our time in the chapel. We will be sharing a song in Worship on Sunday March 19th during Children's Time- be sure to bring your little singers to join us!

Vision Casting Lunch

April 23 • 11:30am-1pm

You are ALL invited to join us for a Vision Casting Lunch!

SIGN UP HERE so we know how much food to plan for!

When: Sunday, April 23 following Worship from 11:30am-1:00pm at HAUMC.

Who: EVERYONE! I’d love for all of our families to attend–your kids included. I’d love for anyone who is interested in the flourishing of children, youth, and families at HAUMC to attend.

What: We will share a meal together and I will spend some time casting vision for Children, Youth, and Family Ministry for the coming year at HAUMC. I will share about my hopes and dreams for children, youth, and families at HAUMC… what I hope Sunday morning programming will look like, the kinds of events I’d like us to do together, the outreach opportunities I hope we can invest in, and what kind of teams we could build in order to see these things happens!

Why: Because it's fun to eat together! And also because we have amazing kids and youth at HAUMC, and they deserve to have a community of adults to rally together and provide an environment in which they can flourish and grow in their faith. I hope that by the end of this meeting we will all have a clearer vision for how God is leading us to move forward together!

Family Faith Formation

Due to the snow on Ash Wednesday, we moved our Imposition of Ashes to a Sunday service, and the kids got to receive ashes in chapel time. It was fun to watch them stand quietly in line, receive their ashes, and then quietly move to find their seats in the chapel. I've never had such a captive audience for such a long and quiet time with this group! It was amazing–but it also reminded me of what it is to have a child-like faith. Their hearts are open, their imaginations are ready to engage with a God who, let's be honest, needs us to engage our imaginations once in a while in order to connect with God!

If you are wondering how to get connected with some resources to use as a family to engage in spiritual practices during Lent this year, check out this article by Christianity Today or head over to Illustrated Ministry and check out their family Lenten Devotional options.
