It’s state tournament time for Putnam County high school sports as the TSSAA’s Spring Fling begins Tuesday. Upperman will have a full day at the start as Meiah Moss will compete in the high jump event of the track and field championships at 1:30 p.m., while the baseball team will play Munford at 4 p.m. Upperman’s baseball team will definitely play again Wednesday, but the Bees could potentially be eliminated from the double-elimination bracket that day. Thursday will conclude track and field action with Abigail Smith, Sarah Smith and Clayton Barrett competing for Cookeville. If the UHS baseball team strings together some wins, it could play again Thursday with the championship game set for Friday. All track and field action will be at MTSU, while the baseball tournament will be split between Blackman, Smyrna and Siegel.
