CHS senior killed in Friday shooting

Airport considers hiring engineer

The Upper Cumberland Regional Airport board will be meeting this week to consider contracting with an "engineer of record." Richard Rinks has been the airport's engineer for the past several years and has said his firm is interested in continuing the job, but several other firms have also expressed interest. We'll have a story later this week.

High school football returns after break

Football returns for Putnam County schools this week as Monterey, Upperman and Cookeville all play their first games following fall break last week on Friday night at 7 p.m. Upperman and Cookeville travel to non-region foes White House and Lincoln County respectively, while the MHS Wildcats host Region 3-2A foe Trousdale County.
