Every election cycle, there are races that don't receive as much attention but still matter. The Democratic State Committee is one of them. Its members help shape the direction of the D.C. Democratic Party and ensure that Ward 7 remains represented within one of the most important civic and political institutions in our city.

As a former Ward 7 Democratic Committeeman, I'm proud to support the re-election of Jimmie Williams and Ashley Ruff.

Jimmie has a long record of service to Ward 7. As former Chair of the Ward 7 Democrats, and President of the Penn Branch Civic Association, he has spent years building strategic relationships, advancing economic development initiatives, and bringing together business, civic, and community leaders to strengthen our neighborhoods. His leadership has helped strengthen Democratic engagement and voter participation not only in Ward 7, but across the city.

Ashley is a longtime, dedicated, and fierce advocate for Ward 7. As an Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner, small business owner, and community leader, she has been a strong voice on issues like food access, public safety, economic opportunity, and connecting residents with vital services. She has worked tirelessly to bring resources and opportunities to Ward 7 while ensuring residents have a seat at the table in decisions that affect their lives. She has also helped ensure that Ward 7’s voice and priorities are represented within the D.C. Democratic Party.

Together, Jimmie and Ashley bring unique experiences and perspectives to the Democratic State Committee. Their commitment to service, advocacy, and leadership has made them effective representatives for Ward 7 both in our community and within the D.C. Democratic Party.
