Building the BioInc Ecosystem

On July 10, we were excited to host US Rep Jake Auchincloss. Rep. Auchincloss chaired the roundtable with several biotech companies' executives to discuss the Medicaid Value-Based Payment (MVP) Act, which helps Medicaid purchase cell-and-gene therapies using contracts based on patient outcomes. When enacted, the act will be a boon to the CGT field and the biotech industry at large and thus, we look forward to getting it passed and helping grow the industry, including our entrepreneurial ecosystem. More details can be seen here.

The month of July featured another key activity aiming to grow BioInc's reach.

On July 23, we sponsored the 19th annual Massachusetts Life Sciences Innovation (MALSI) Day. The event featured 28 spinouts representing 14 institutions, 2 engaging panels, hundreds of attendees across industry, venture, academia and government, all gathered to celebrate the thriving life sciences ecosystem in Massachusetts. BioInc ecosystem was proudly represented by Immunoscript and Hiba Therapeutics. The event highlighted a camaraderie between different key stakeholders, which is so critical to navigating these uncertain times in the life science/biotech industry. Most notably, both panels focused on the importance of networking and warm introductions to investors to ensure one's success in fundraising, something that BioInc's and our partners' programming constantly strive to provide.

Seeking a Few Good Life Science Companies

If you are seeking high-quality laboratory space outside the congestion and constraints of Boston/Cambridge, we currently offer shared lab spaces and two (2) BSL-1 and one (1) BSL-2 private lab spaces available.

In addition, we have an impressive arsenal of high-end analytical instruments—from Raman and FTIR spectroscopy to atomic force microscopy, flow cytometry, automated cell imaging, and more.

While contract laboratories perform excellent work and allow small startups to save time and (sometimes) money, in many cases, it is much more advantageous to perform the work yourself, both time-wise and financially. You don’t simply receive a report: you see how the test behaves, notice the anomalies, adjust the experiment, and develop a much better feel for what the results actually mean.

Come to Mansfield, perform your own analytical work, and pay a fraction of what contract laboratories may charge—while gaining a far better understanding of your results.

Here is the equipment list:

See the full equipment list here.

Other amenities include a high-speed internet, large breakroom/event space with a kitchenette and a ping pong table, conference and meeting rooms, shared and private offices.

However, we are more than just a lab space. We are a community consisting of more than 60 companies.

By becoming a member, you will be a full-fledged part of Massachusetts life science community with plenty of benefits, including the membership in trade organizations, discounts for bootcamps and masterclasses, opportunity to participate in pitch competition, etc.
