Highlighted Employer
Performs general kitchen duties including food preparation and storage, cleaning and storing dishes, utensils, pots, and performing general department sanitation. Follows clearly defined department policies and recipes to accurately prepare and serve snacks and meals to patients and visitors. Supports the functionality of the department by assisting in a variety of areas including tray line, cafeteria, dish room, host/hostess, or catering.

Provides clinical and clerical support to providers and members of the patient care team(s) by performing a variety of back office and patient-related tasks supporting the delivery of high-quality patient care. Helps ensure smooth patient and workflow within the department and assists the patient care team in implementing the medical plan of care. Integrates education, technical competence, and patient interaction skills to gain confidence and cooperation from the patient, their family/support group, and other healthcare providers. Performs all duties under the direction of a clinician.

Provides timely and accurate pharmaceutical care. Prepares, compounds, packages, labels, and dispenses medication, nutritional products, IV admixture and solutions (e.g., chemotherapy, biotherapy, etc.), and Durable Medical Equipment (DME) according to Sutter Health policies, state/ federal regulations, and The Joint Commission standards. Assists with medicine and supplies inventory management and control, including maintaining adequate stock levels, checking accuracy of pricing, and completing required regulatory documentation. Adheres to all standards, procedures, cleaning protocols, and infection control polices to maintain a safe and sterile medication area, clean rooms, and laminar flow hoods.

Maintains scheduling for surgical and specialized procedures for assigned department(s). Coordinates surgical services with physicians' offices, and other related departments and may be required to verify room and equipment availability. Responsible for documentation of patient's procedure and physician information; logs the completed procedures; and may generate a surgical procedure charge sheet. Performs additional associated duties as requested by manager, while simultaneously ensuring the accuracy of the schedule.

Volunteer Opportunities
Hotline Advocate for Survivors of Domestic Violence
The Walnut Avenue Family & Women's Center is looking for volunteer hotline advocates to provide peer emotional support, safety-planning and crisis intervention support to survivors of domestic violence and their allies regarding current or recent domestic violence. Previous experience is not required. Training is included and meets the California legal requirements to be certified as an advocate for domestic violence survivors (California Evidence Code Section 1037). Completion of the advocacy certification training opens up additional opportunities including legal advocacy in court, teen group facilitation, the housing program and community/prevention education. Click here for more information.

COVID-19 Resources
