Welcome to the Vaughan-Bradley Law Enforcement Building, home of the Hanover County Sheriff's Office. But if you look a little deeper, you’ll find a lot more. This building has a story.

Sheriffs John Brackett Vaughan, Jr. and Harold E. Bradley served Hanover for a combined 43 years. Their commitment to community jumpstarted the shift to our present-day Sheriff's Office, valuing what makes our County so special - YOU!

Community meeting tonight on solar power facility in Western Hanover

Springfield Farm Solar, L.L.C. has requested a conditional use permit (CUP) for a solar power facility in Western Hanover.

There will be a community meeting tonight at 6 p.m. at Elmont Elementary School to discuss the CUP request.

🔋 Battery disposal 101🔋

Throwing away batteries can be dangerous!

Rechargeable batteries like the ones found in cell phones, laptops, toys and tools must be recycled. If these batteries are thrown in the trash, our compactors can puncture them, causing the batteries to get hot, catch on fire or even explode.

Single-use alkaline batteries like AAA, AA, C and D can be safely tossed in the trash.

Thank you to Hanover County Fire-EMS for assisting our Public Works team in demonstrating what has been happening at our centers.

We appreciate your help as we work to keep our crews safe!

Internet is coming

Our Connect Hanover Broadband Initiative is well underway with the pre-fiber construction phase. The main fiber construction is expected later this year with the first home connections in early 2024!

Our broadband partner, All Points Broadband, will be sending these informational flyers to everyone in the areas they will be serving.

There will be an update on the Connect Hanover project at Wednesday's Board of Supervisors meeting.
