Is there a project you’ve been putting off that you could accomplish with a group of volunteers?

Team Hanover will be participating in the National Day of Service on Monday, September 11. Organizations can participate in Hanover’s 9/11 Day of Service by providing volunteer opportunities for Hanover employees.

If you're interested in submitting a project, call Community Resources at 804-365-4300 for information on how to sign up.

Hanover Youth Service Council is collecting school supplies for Tools 4 Teachers. The organization supports Hanover County middle and high school students and teachers with donated supplies.

Collection boxes will be located throughout the County during the month of August. 

Chickahominy Health District is hosting back-to-school vaccine clinics at Hanover Health Department, 12312 Washington Highway.

Clinics will be offered on the following days:

• Wednesday, August 9
• Wednesday, August 16

Hanover County Behavioral Health & Wellness is hosting two FREE "Start In Style" events for students to begin the school year with a new outfit, accessories and more!

To guarantee all interested families have access to free clothes, pre-ordering is available but not required. Outfits will be packaged in a bag along with a couple surprise goodies for students!

The Hanover County School Board will meet Tuesday, August 8 at the Hanover County Administration Building Board Room, 7516 County Complex Road.

The public meeting begins at 7 p.m. and will be live streamed. View the agenda here.

National Night Out 2023 was a success! Thank you to everyone who participated in this year's event with the Hanover County Sheriff's Office.

There will be a Planning Commission public hearing on the County's Comprehensive Plan on Thursday, August 10 at 6 p.m. in the Hanover County Administration Building Board Room.

Hanover Employees' Association is hosting a pet supply drive benefiting Hanover County Animal Control and Shelter and Hanover Humane Society.

Donation boxes are located throughout the County through August 11.

We celebrated the universal birthday for shelter dogs last week in honor of our pups whose real birthdays are unknown.

We visited Hanover County Animal Control and Shelter to throw a party with balloons, treats and party hats!

Come celebrate with us Monday-Friday 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturdays by appointment only.
