Early voting begins March 6 for proposed constitutional amendment

Early voting begins this Friday, March 6, for the proposed constitutional amendment to allow the General Assembly to temporarily adopt new congressional districts. 

 

The Wickham Building is under construction. Residents may enter the Voter Registration and Elections Office through the main double doors facing County Complex Road. The Early Voting Center is open Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. 

Pole Green Park event earns RVA Sports Award

The VAXC Showcase at Pole Green Park received Event Impact of the Year at the 2026 RVA Sports Awards — a well-deserved recognition for an event that brought athletes, families and visitors together right here in Hanover County.


A huge thank you to our Hanover County Parks and Recreation staff for helping make the event a success at our park.

Supervisors to host Town Halls

Beaverdam District Supervisor Jeff S. Stoneman is hosting a Town Hall on Monday, March 16, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Doswell Community Center, 16433 Washington Highway.

Chickahominy District Supervisor Danielle Grieshaber Floyd is hosting a Town Hall on Tuesday, March 17, at 6:30 p.m. at Atlee Branch Library, 9212 Rutlandshire Drive.


School Board member Bob Seifert and Planning Commission member Cliff Parker of the Chickahominy District will also be in attendance.

Share your thoughts on safety issues impacting our region

The Richmond region has experienced near-record roadway deaths and injuries over the past few years.

 

PlanRVA is updating its Regional Safety Plan to help reduce crashes and move toward Vision Zero — eliminating traffic deaths and serious injuries.

 

The update will outline clear next steps, policies and actionable strategies based on community input.

Free legal services offered for eligible adults

Free legal services will be prepared for eligible adults including those aged 55 and older, persons with disabilities, caregivers and individuals receiving hospice care at Senior Law Day on Thursday, March 26.


Examples of documents prepared:

  • Will — to designate your wishes
  • Durable Power of Attorney — to conduct your business
  • Advance Medical Directive — to direct your future healthcare

March into spring with master gardeners

Join the Hanover Master Gardeners for a morning of activities, learning and fun for all ages on Saturday, March 21.


From 9 a.m. to noon at the Horticultural Learning Center, 13015 Taylor Complex Lane, master gardeners will be hosting family-friendly activities and answering all of your gardening questions. There will also be hands-on demonstrations and tool sharpening services available for purchase.
